Aston's Specialities

It's quite meaningful to know about Aston's story from their website (http://astons.com.sg/ourstory.html). It wrote "It started out as one man's dream...Aston Soon had a simple wish- to bring quality Western cuisine to the masses at affordable prices........Ask Aston for his recipe to sucess and the answer is surprisingly down-to-earth: "For me, it's about providing quality and value-for-money food, service that makes you feel like you're with friends, and experience that you'll remember for life."

We've tried the outlet at Sembawang Shopping Centre, always has a queue but moving quite fast. You can choose to sit inside (air-con) or outside (near the water splashing thing). DD ordered Hikkory BBQ Chicken + French Fries + Corn on the Cob. And I ordered Grilled Fish with Herbs + Baked Potato + Pasta Salad. The foods are nice at affordable price (exactly as what they put on their website). It's worth to try it again @ other outlets.

Maru Korean BBQ

Tried this Korean restaurant which is just down the road from the office. The moment you step into the restaurant, you can bask in the comfort of its serene decor. Elegantly brimmed with wooden furnishings, the restaurant uses plants, pillars and blinds to provide each dinner party with a dose of privacy. Thumbs up for the dining environment.

As usual, we are served with side dishes ('ban-chans' as they say in Korean), nothing special and the kimchi is super salty. I ordered bbq pork + rice + kimchi soup set. The bbq pork taste ordinary, however the kimchi soup is quite tasty (maybe with alot of MSG). You can choose to have coffee/tea or ice-cream as dessert. To my disappointment, it's only vanilla ice-cream on the list and it tastes like medicine..yucks!

It's not place I will come back again as food is so so and it's overpriced!

Sampan Rides @ Marina Bay Sands

First we thought the river in Marina Bay Sands will be similar to Macau's Venetian, but we were disappointed with what we saw. The river is not blueish as Venetian, nor the river on the website, it's abit like longkang!!! The queue was pretty long so mommy was discouraged by that, and the main thing was nobody is interested to ride with Jazzel. When we adults were discussing and saying "没有人要坐啊?“,Jazzel exclaimed ”我要坐!“ So end up we waited more than half an hour and mommy had to ride the sampan with her.
A special Opening price of $5 for each ride (adults and children) for a special period of time! (Standard prices for each ride will cost $10 per adult and $6 per child (2–12 years old).)

Initially we were worried Jazzel might scared of the ride and wanted to get down half way...but this daring girl was enjoy throughout the rides! Even when the sampan was shaking left and right. Mommy was abit giddy but Jazzel was like happily saying "wor wor!!!"
